Knowing His Name

Living in the Safety of Our Father's Love

There's something powerful about calling Him Father. Not a distant God, not a title with formality, but Abba—the tender, intimate name Jesus invites us to use. When you trust in that name, there's a closeness that brings peace, confidence, and protection. Psalm 91:14 says, "I will protect those who trust in my name." When we know Him as Father, we're not standing on a name we barely understand—we're standing in the arms of Someone who knows us completely and never lets us go. Every name of God reveals something beautiful: El Shaddai, the All-Sufficient One. Elohim, the Creator. Yehovah, the covenant-keeper. But Jesus came to reveal the greatest gift of all—that the One who holds galaxies in His hands wants us to call Him Dad. In John 17:11, Jesus prayed, "Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me." That word keep means to guard, protect, and preserve. Your protection doesn't come from shouting titles—it comes from trusting the heart behind the name. No matter what you're walking through today, you can rest in knowing that the Father is near. He's not waiting for you to be perfect. He's already chosen to love, defend, and cover you because you belong to Him. He is your Abba—and when you call, He answers. Not because you earned it, but because you're His child, and He never misses your voice.

Today I Confess

My identity is rooted in Christ. I am not who I was—I am who He says I am.
