Look to Jesus

The Most Practical Thing You'll Ever Do

It may sound too simple to be powerful, but looking to Jesus is the most practical thing you can do in any situation. When Peter stepped out of the boat during a storm, he didn't do it because the conditions were safe—he did it because Jesus said, "Come" (Matthew 14:29). And as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked on water. But the moment he shifted his focus to the storm, he began to sink. We are the same. When we behold Jesus, His strength becomes ours and our impossible becomes possible. Scripture doesn't say we are transformed by trying harder. It says, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18). That means our transformation is tied to our gaze. We don't become more like Jesus by striving—we become like Him by seeing Him. And as we behold Him, His peace, wisdom, and provision begin to fill every part of our lives. The next time you feel overwhelmed, remember that Peter's miracle happened in the middle of the storm, not after it. He did the impossible simply because he was focused on Jesus. Whatever you're facing today, lift your eyes. You're not ignoring the problem—you're giving your attention to the One who has already overcome it.

Today I Confess

I live by faith, not by sight. God is faithful, and I trust Him with my whole heart.
