Stop Acting Shocked

You've Been Training for the Wrong Outcome

You keep saying, "I knew this would happen," when things go wrong — but do you ever say it when they go right? If we're honest, most people have been running a masterclass in negative faith. They brace for the worst, rehearse their complaints, and speak like defeat is inevitable… then act surprised when it walks right through the door they opened with their words. That's not bad luck; that's trained expectation.

Jesus never said, "According to your fears be it unto you." He said, "According to your faith be it unto you" (Matthew 9:29). But here's the uncomfortable truth: faith works in both directions. If you can expect a negative outcome with such certainty, you can expect God's promises with even more certainty — because His Word is more trustworthy than your worst-case scenario. The real problem isn't that faith doesn't work, it's that you've been using it against yourself.

So stop pampering your doubts. Starve your fears. Feed your faith until blessings don't shock you — they feel inevitable. And the next time God answers, don't stand there wide-eyed like it's a fluke. Smile, nod, and say, "I knew He'd come through." That's how Heaven expects you to live.

"According to your faith be it unto you." — Matthew 9:29

Today I Confess

I will stop giving my best faith to the negative. I will expect God's promises to show up, and I will not be surprised when they do — because I know they are already mine.
