Unshackled Grace

The Song of True Freedom in Christ

January 8, 2025Author: Trish TiptonCategory: Freedom

There are moments when words fall short—when freedom feels too vast, too sacred, to be wrapped in sentences. Now We Are Free, though sung in a language of the heart, mirrors what Christ accomplished for us: a freedom beyond words. "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8:36). This is not freedom that the world offers, which can be taken away; it is a deep, soul-level liberty from fear, guilt, and every chain that once held us.

Jesus doesn't just unlock the prison door—He carries us out, clothes us in righteousness, and calls us His own. There's a melody in that kind of love, a song you can feel even in silence. True freedom is not doing whatever we want, but being restored to who we were created to be—fully alive in Him, unbound by the weight of the past.

The Holy Spirit calls us into this freedom daily, like a song whispered over our lives: "You are mine. You are free. You are loved." It's not always about the lyrics we can understand, but the heart language He plants inside us—a joy that rises up even when words fail.

"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." John 8:36 (NKJV)

Today I Confess

I am no longer bound to the past or to fear. Christ has set me free, and my life sings a new song of grace and victory.
