May 9
God's timing is not our timing, and this is one of the hardest lessons of the faith life. We pray, we wait, we wonder if we heard wrong or if He heard us at all. But Scripture is full of long waiters who received the promise in the fullness of time. Sarah waited. Joseph waited. The disciples waited in the upper room. The wait was not evidence of His absence. It was preparation for something more than they had imagined.
Reflection
Look back over the past month and write down three ways you can see God's faithfulness. Sometimes we need to rehearse His goodness before we can trust His plans for what lies ahead.
Scripture
Psalm 46:10 — He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'
Today I Confess
I am called and chosen — my life has eternal significance and meaning.
