Candied Walnuts
Sweet, crunchy candied walnuts made on the stovetop or in the oven — perfect for salads, snacking, or gifting.

Ingredients
- 1 cup walnut halves or pieces
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar for a richer flavor)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Optional: ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, pinch of salt, or vanilla extract
Instructions
- 1
Stovetop: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Melt the butter.
- 2
Add sugar and walnuts. Stir well to coat evenly.
- 3
Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and caramelizes. Walnuts will turn shiny and sticky.
- 4
Add cinnamon, salt, or vanilla if desired, stirring to combine.
- 5
Spread onto a parchment-lined sheet in a single layer. Cool completely until the coating hardens.
- 6
Oven method: Preheat to 350°F. Toss walnuts with melted butter, sugar, and spices. Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake 8–10 minutes, stirring halfway. Cool completely before serving.
- 7
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for longer freshness.
