A Regenerated Spirit
The Wisdom of Holding Your Tongue
When we're born again, our spirit is made new—alive to God and led by His wisdom. One of the clearest signs of this new life is self-control, especially in how we speak. Yet, many still feel the urge to talk about things that aren't theirs to share. This habit, often rooted in loneliness, a desire for attention, or old patterns, doesn't reflect the heart of Christ. God's Word makes it clear that we'll give account for every idle word. Speaking too much, especially about others, can quickly turn into gossip, judgment, or criticism. That's not who we are anymore. We've been called to a higher standard—one that listens before speaking and asks, "Is this mine to share? Will it honor God?" A regenerated spirit doesn't need to fill the silence. It chooses restraint, not because it's easy, but because it's wise. When we bridle our tongues, we reflect the love and maturity of someone led by the Spirit. If it's not our story to tell, wisdom says: let it be left unsaid.
Today I Confess
I live by faith, not by sight. God is faithful, and I trust Him with my whole heart.
