Don't Confuse Faith with Emotions
Your Focus Determines Your Faith
Faith isn't a feeling—it's a choice to trust. "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7) reminds us that faith goes beyond what we can see or feel. Emotions can shift quickly, but faith stands steady when it's rooted in the unchanging character of Jesus. It's no accident that the two people Jesus praised for having "great faith" weren't focused on themselves—they were focused on Him. The centurion believed Jesus only had to speak a word (Matthew 8:5–13), and the Syro-Phoenician woman persisted because she trusted His goodness (Matthew 15:21–28). They saw who He was, not how they felt. If you're wondering whether you have "enough faith," stop measuring and start beholding. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2) is the answer. He is faithful and will never let you walk through more than you can handle (1 Corinthians 10:13). You don't have to stir up more faith—just draw near to Him.
Today I Confess
Even when I don't feel it, I trust God's Word. Faith is my anchor, not my emotions—and His truth never changes.
