Faithful and Focused
Living a Life Approved by God Through His Word
God calls us to be diligent—not casual—when it comes to our faith. "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God" speaks of living with intentionality, seeking God's approval above all. This isn't about earning salvation, but about walking in a way that reflects reverence and commitment to the Lord. Diligence means making time for His Word, prioritizing spiritual growth, and living with integrity. The verse also describes us as "a worker who does not need to be ashamed." Just as a craftsman takes pride in his skill, we should handle God's Word with accuracy and care. When we study and apply Scripture correctly, we don't have to fear being misled or misleading others. Our understanding of truth shapes how we live, pray, and encourage others. Finally, "rightly dividing the word of truth" emphasizes the importance of correctly interpreting the Bible. We don't twist Scripture to suit our emotions or the world's opinions. Instead, we seek the full counsel of God through study and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When we rightly divide the Word, we carry truth with confidence, and we live as vessels God can trust and use.
