The Torn Veil: Access Restored Through Christ

How Jesus Removed the Barrier Between God and Man, Opening the Way to True Fellowship

In the days of the old covenant, the Holy of Holies was hidden behind a thick veil, separating man from God's presence. Only the high priest could enter—and only once a year—with a blood sacrifice to atone for sin. It was a powerful picture of how sin kept us at a distance from a holy God, and no amount of effort could change that.

But this wasn't God's desire for us. He longed for closeness, not separation. The law revealed our need for a Savior, and in His mercy, God sent Jesus to make a way. At the moment Jesus gave His life, the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom—God's own declaration that the barrier between us was gone.

Jesus took all our sin upon Himself, satisfying God's justice and opening the door to complete reconciliation. We are no longer outsiders looking in. Because of His blood, we've been made righteous and invited into God's presence with boldness. We're not barely tolerated—we are fully accepted, deeply loved, and completely forgiven.

Now we don't have to come with fear or shame. The way has been made open, and God invites us to come close. Just like the veil is lifted from a bride on her wedding day, our Father has removed everything that once stood between us. We can worship, pray, and live in daily intimacy with Him. His presence is no longer reserved for a few—it's available to every believer who dares to draw near and receive the love He so freely gives.

Today I Confess

The veil is torn and nothing stands between me and God. I live in open access to His presence through the finished work of Jesus.
