The Way Out Is Already There
God's faithfulness meets us in every temptation
Temptation is something we all face. It can show up as a whisper of doubt, a pull toward an old habit, or the weight of discouragement trying to settle in. But the truth is, we're not the first to walk through it—and we're certainly not alone. "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV). There is comfort in knowing that what we're facing isn't unique, and even greater comfort in knowing that God has already prepared a way through it. When we feel cornered or weak, it's easy to believe there's no way out. But God's Word says otherwise. He promises that He will never allow more than we can handle with His help. That doesn't mean we won't feel the pressure—but it does mean the pressure won't break us if we keep our eyes on Him. Even when we fail, God doesn't abandon us. In fact, some of our greatest growth comes through learning from the moments we didn't get it right. His mercy meets us there, not to shame us, but to strengthen us for the next time. Every failure can be a stepping stone toward deeper faith and wisdom—if we let Him teach us through it. This gives me so much hope. I don't have to live in fear of temptation, or stay stuck in regret. God knows my limits better than I do, and He's committed to helping me overcome. His faithfulness isn't based on my performance—it's rooted in His unchanging love. So when I'm faced with temptation, I'll ask Him to open my eyes to the way out. And if I stumble, I'll get back up, lean into His grace, and move forward with the confidence that He's still with me, teaching me and preparing me to stand stronger next time.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) – "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
Today I Confess
God always provides a way of escape. Even when I feel stuck, He has a path forward prepared for me.
