Knee pain — whether from arthritis, overuse, injury, or aging — responds well to consistent topical application of anti-inflammatory and analgesic essential oils. This blend brings together four of the most well-supported oils for joint pain into a single, easy-to-apply formula.

Copaiba and frankincense work together to reduce inflammation in the joint and surrounding tissue. Peppermint provides immediate cooling relief and acts as a natural analgesic, while lavender soothes the nervous system response to chronic pain and promotes relaxation in the surrounding muscle tissue.

Arnica oil as a carrier is an excellent choice for joint pain — it has its own anti-inflammatory and bruise-healing properties that complement the essential oils. Fractionated coconut oil is a great alternative if arnica is not available.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Arnica oil or fractionated coconut oil
  • 4 drops Copaiba essential oil
  • 3 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • 2 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 2 drops Lavender essential oil

How to Use

  1. 1Combine all ingredients in a small glass bottle or roller bottle.
  2. 2Apply to the knee area and massage in gently.
  3. 3Use twice daily — morning and evening — or as needed for pain.
  4. 4Allow to absorb fully before covering with clothing.
  5. 5For best results, apply consistently over several weeks rather than only during acute flare-ups.
  6. 6Store in a cool, dark place.
