New Lotion Scents to Try

Three blend directions for adding essential oils to unscented lotion — starting with lavender and sandalwood as a base, then building with bridge notes to take it where you want it to go.

These blends are built around lavender and sandalwood as the base — lavender is fresh and familiar, sandalwood is warm and grounding. The bridge notes in each variation pull the final scent in a different direction: spring, botanical, or clean woods.

Mix your essential oils into jojoba oil first, then fold into your unscented lotion. Let the finished lotion sit 24 hours before judging the scent — sandalwood deepens significantly after resting.

For 8 oz of lotion, stay at 30–35 drops total. Do not exceed 2 tsp jojoba or it will thin your Vanicream.
