The itching phase of sunburn healing is often more uncomfortable than the initial burn — it signals that the skin is actively repairing itself, but the sensation can be intense and persistent. Scratching damaged, inflamed skin prolongs healing and risks infection, making an effective itch-relief remedy genuinely valuable.

Lavender essential oil is particularly well-suited for sunburn — it has both analgesic (pain-relieving) and anti-inflammatory properties, and its gentle nature makes it suitable for use on sensitive, damaged skin. Helichrysum supports the tissue repair process and may accelerate healing of sun-damaged skin cells.

Jojoba or sweet almond oil as a carrier nourishes and repairs the skin barrier that sun exposure damages, restoring moisture and reducing peeling. Optional calendula oil infusion brings additional anti-inflammatory and skin-healing properties that make this blend even more effective for compromised skin. Apply with a light touch — no rubbing — over the sunburned area.
